RondoFest 2023

Active Participant

RondoFest returns this year with an enhanced lineup, including all orchestral instruments. It provides musicians from Malaysia and other Southeast Asian countries with a unique opportunity to learn from world-class artists.

With our specially designed learning programmes - intensive lessons, workshops, masterclasses, rehearsals and concerts, RondoFest participants will receive a combination of one-one-one instruction and professional performance experience. 

Instrumental

Conducting

Available for:
Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Flute , Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, Percussion.

There are only 10 slots available for each instrument, except for violins, which have 20 slots.

1-to-1 Lesson 

Every active participant receives an hour of lesson with an artist faculty member to enhance his/her skill on his/her instrument.

Masterclasses

Each masterclass focuses on a particular instrument, as the faculty guides the participants through solo or orchestral excerpts.

Workshops

Each workshop covers topics such as music appreciation, history, and more to provide attendees with a well-rounded education.

Panel discussion addresses topics related to the professional development and career pathway of music students.

Rehearsals

The selected participants will rehearse with the artist faculty in preparation for the Closing Gala. Audition is required to be part of the festival orchestra – click here for audition guidelines.

Closing Gala

The selected participants also have the chance to perform alongside world-class faculties at the concert, which will mark the end of the festival. The concert will be opened for public to attend.

Lunchtime Concerts

Every active participant is encouraged to sign up for lunchtime performances during the festival. Subject to availabilties. 

Networking Opportunity

The festival offers a great networking opportunity for music students, hobbyists, performers and educators all over the world to meet and connect.
There are only 4 slots available.

1-to-1 Lesson 

Every active participant receives 30-minute lessons (without piano) with the faculty to enhance individual conducting technique.

Studio Class

Each studio class (with piano) focuses on specific repertoire through score reading, rehearsal preparation, baton techniques. Observers get to observe the interaction between the active participants and the faculty.

Workshops

Each workshop covers topics such as music appreciation, history, and more to provide attendees with a well-rounded education.
