An enchanting evening of musical mastery by the winner of the Malaysian Wind Music Prize 2023, saxophonist Mohd Shahrizal bin Ahmad Kamal. The recital also features piano accompanist Mabel Choong See May, so you will be treated to smooth saxophone tones blending seamlessly with the rich harmonies of the piano.
The programme promises a diverse selection of pieces. Highlights include Jules Demersseman’s lively Introduction and Variations from the Carnival of Venice that will captivate your senses, Fernande Decruck’s expressive and evocative Sonata for Alto Saxophone in C#, and a solo performance of Barry Cockcroft’s Beat Me which demonstrates the saxophone’s versatility.
