THE EVENT

About the Series

In line with our mission to inspire and engage our community through musical excellence, we invite renowned musicians and groups across the world to share their insights and ideas with the community. Through this series, we hope that our students in Southeast Asia will be inspired and motivated through words of encouragement as well as practice suggestions from the artists.

Calefax can be defined as a classical ensemble with a pop mentality. A close-knit ensemble of five reed players, they are the inventors of a completely new genre: the reed quintet. They provide inspiration to young wind players from all over the world who follow in their footsteps.

‘Calefax – five extremely gifted Dutch gents who almost made the reed quintet seem the best musical format on the planet.’
The Times, UK
