Simone Candotto, born in Palmanova (Udine – Italy) in 1969, began the school of musical orientation at the age of 9 at the youth band G. Rossini of Castions di Strada (Udine) and at the beginning of 1979 he received his first lessons of trombone by Prof. Giacomo Micoli, Francesco Di Bernardo and Gino Comisso.
During the period of study in Germany, Simone was a member of various youth orchestras such as the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival Orchester, the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO), the orchestra of the Festival d’Aix-en- Provence (F) and the Lucerne Festival Orchestra (CH). From 1993 to 1997 he was trombonist in the orchestra of the Kassel Theater (D) and from 1997 he was the principal trombone at the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester in Hamburg (D).
He has been invited to work with various orchestras such as the orchestra of the Gran Teatro “La Fenice” in Venice (I), the chamber orchestra of Padua and Veneto (I), the “A. Toscanini” philharmonic orchestra of Parma (I), the RAI national symphony orchestra (I), the orquesta philharmonic de Gran Canaria (ES), the orchestra of the Bayerische Staatsoper (D), the orchestra of the Hamburgische Staatsoper (D), the Ensemble Modern in Frankfurt (D), the Berliner Philharmoniker (D) and the Scala Philharmonic Orchestra (I).
Simone was a finalist in various international trombone competitions such as the IPV competition in Berlin (D), the Città di Porcia competition (I) and the Prague Spring international competition (CZ) in 1997 where he received the special prize for the performance of the obligatory piece of contemporary music from the Czech Republic.
