BIOGRAPHY

Nitiphum Bamrungbanthum, was appointed Principal Trumpet of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of 20.

Nitiphum is pursuing his Master of Music in Music Performance and Pedagogy from the College of Music, Mahidol University, where he studies trumpet with Asst. Prof. Dr. Joseph Bowman. He has attended masterclasses with distinguished trumpet artists including Reinhold Friederich, Peter Monkediek, Jens Lindermans, and Carole Reinhart.

Nitiphum has performed regularly as a soloist, orchestral musician, and chamber musician in Thailand. He has performed the Trumpet Concerto No. 1 by James Stephenson, Concerto for Seven Wind Instruments by Frank Martin, and Trumpet Concerto in E Flat Major by Franz Joseph Haydn with the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra. He previously served as the principal trumpet of the Million Wind Philharmonic and guest musician for the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.

Moreover, he was awarded the Winner Scholarship and 3rd Prize in the Orchestral Excerpt Competition at International Trumpet Guild Conference 2019.

Nitiphum is the founder of the Zero Brass Quintet. The quintet was awarded the 2nd Prize (no 1st prize was awarded) in the 18th Osaka International Music Competition under the Mixed Chamber Music Division. The quintet has also won several other local brass competitions in Thailand.

Nitiphum is currently the guest principal trumpet of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.
