Michellina Chan (b. 1992) is a Singaporean saxophonist. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Performance) with First Class Honours from the University of Melbourne, Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, a Master of Music studying with Arno Bornkamp at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Amsterdam University of the Arts and the Diplôme d’Etudes Musicales at the Conservatoire de Bordeaux Jacques Thibaud, Bordeaux, France under the tutelage of Marie-Bernadette Charrier.
Having the opportunity to live in diverse vibrant cities, Michellina loves collaborating not only with fellow musicians but also with artists of different disciplines. Venturing into ballet at a young age, Michellina continues this passion with Duo plastiCITY together with dancer, Valerie Lim, to create interdisciplinary performances that challenges not only gravity but the perception of audiences towards classical contemporary music. She also founded some of Singapore’s top professional chamber groups, Xin Saxophone Quartet as well as KOU, a one-of-a-kind Singapore-based mixed instrument ensemble refusing to be confined by tradition.
As an educator in Singapore, she often gives workshops at education festivals by the Wind Bands Association of Singapore and also teaches regularly at the Singapore Armed Forces Band, National University of Singapore Symphonic Band, Dunman High Secondary School amongst others.
