Born and bred in Penang, Lee Chun Howe started playing the oboe when he joined the high school band. Subsequently, he joined the Penang Symphony Orchestra and developed an interest in orchestral music. He then took lessons from Melanie Harel and Simon Emes, the oboists of Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. He was a founding member of Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. He has performed with Asian Youth Orchestra, Young Euro Classic Orchestra of Southern Europe, Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and National Symphony Orchestra. He is currently a freelancer.
