Chow Jun Yan began his composition studies with Mr. Yii Kah Hoe. He graduated with First Class Honours from Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YST), Singapore, where he studied under Professor Ho Chee Kong, and Computer Music under Professor Steven Miller. In addition, he completed his student exchange program at Peabody Conservatory of Music, where he studied under Dr. Oscar Bettison as well as attended master classes with Chaya Czernowin, Liza Lim, Hans Thomalla, Mark Andre, Manos Tsangaris and Yuval Shaked.
Jun Yan completed his PhD studies at the National University of Singapore under the supervision of Professor Lonce Wyse in the year 2018, with a thesis titled Communication Between Sound and Visual Artists in Improvisatory Performance.
He is an adjunct professor at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore.
